The Employability and Community team offer free courses to equip unemployed job seekers with the skills they need to find work.
The first step into a chosen career is often the most difficult, whether you are starting new, returning to work or wanting to change careers. Our courses can help build up your relevant experience so the first step won’t be so hard.
Every Monday afternoon from 1.30-3pm there is a free drop-in session at Reading College to meet the team and discuss your options. The session runs every week and you can drop in without an appointment. While you are here we will run through the courses that we have on offer and try to find the course that suits you best.

All courses are under 16 hours so will not affect benefit payments.
If you choose to attend and wish to enrol please bring a form of
identification with you for example a driving licence, passport or
a proof of benefit letter from within the last three months.
Get that Job courses are completely free if you are unemployed and receive a means-tested benefit. Our courses will prepare you for a specific area of work with recognised qualifications.
We offer more than just qualifications. We’ll help you write your CV and application forms, and practise your interview techniques.
Courses are run based on demand and tailored to your individual needs. We create programmes based on the employment needs of the local community and will help you to find the course that's right for you.

You’ll also benefit from support from the Reed Jobfinder Service who will connect you with local vacancies. The team at Reed will match your skills and qualifications with the vacancies on offer and help you prepare for your interview.
