Description

The course can be undertaken by existing gas operatives who hold ACS competency in CCN1 and one appliance, and wish to renew their competency.

The objective of this course is to allow you to practise general knowledge/skill of the Gas Safety Regulations procedures and British Standards, which must be applied when carrying out work on gas installations. You cover the following topics:
Installation of pipework and fittings
Emergency procedures
Unsafe situations
Flueing standards and testing
Tightness testing
Re-establishing gas supplies
Operation and checking of safety devices and controls
Ventilation checking and setting
Appliance burner pressures and gas rates

Installation, commissioning and maintenance information on the gas appliance you require.

This course is delivered over three days. One day is dedicated to training both theoretically and practically in class and in the workshop. The following two days are dedicated to the assessment process which includes three multiple-choice theory assessment papers and a practical assessment.

The outcome of the course is for you to prove competency in Domestic Gas Safety in accordance with UKAS CITB and Gas Safe requirements. This will allow you to carry out work within this area.

To do this course you need to hold ACS competency in CCN1 with less than 6 months before renewal is due.

On successful completion you can apply for Gas Safe registration (upon successful completion of the course).
