Description
The course can be undertaken by existing gas operatives who hold ACS competency in CCN1 require no training and wish to renew their competency.It can also be done by qualified plumbing operatives (minimum NVQ Level 2) who have gathered a portfolio of on-site gas training and have undertaken adequate theory training and wish to gain competency for the first time.
The objective of this course is to allow you to be assessed on your general knowledge/skill of the Gas Safety Regulations procedures and British Standards which must be applied when carrying out work on gas installations. You will be assessed on the following topics:

The objective of this course is to allow you to be assessed on
your general knowledge/skill of the Gas Safety Regulations
procedures and British Standards which must be applied when
carrying out work on gas installations. You will be assessed on the
following topics:
Installation of Pipework and Fitting
sEmergency procedures
Unsafe situations
Flueing standards and testing
Tightness testing
Re-establishing gas supplies
Operation and checking of safety devices and controls
Ventilation
Checking and setting appliance burner pressures and gas rates
This course is delivered over two days both theoretically and
practically in the classroom and in the workshop by a skilled
assessor. The assessment process will consist of three theory
multiple choice assessment papers if you are a first time applicant
to the scheme or two if you are renewing together with a practical
assessment.
On successful completion of your assessment in understanding British standards for gas safety installations as well as the regulations and procedures relating to the standards you gain CCN1 Accreditation. It also allows you to apply for Gas Safe registration
You will need to already hold ACS competency in CCN1 with less than 6 months before renewal is due or an NVQ plumbing qualification or equivalent together with an on-site gas training portfolio and adequate theory training.
