Description
The course can be undertaken by existing gas operatives who hold ACS competency in CCN1 and wish to renew their competency.
You practise general knowledge/skill of the Gas Safety Regulations procedures and British Standards which must be applied when carrying out work on gas installations. You cover the following topics:
Installation of pipework and fittings
Emergency procedures
Unsafe situations
Flueing standards and testing
Tightness testing
Re-establishing gas supplies
Operation and checking of safety devices and controls
Ventilation
Checking and setting appliance burner pressures and gas rates

This course is delivered over three days with one day dedicated to
training both theoretically and practically both in the classroom
and in the workshop by a skilled trainer and the following two days
dedicated to the assessment process with two theory multiple choice
assessment papers and practical assessment.
This refresher course helps you to meet knowledge objectives requirements and competently carry out all practical tasks to successfully gain CCN1 accreditation.
You need to hold ACS competency in CCN1 with less than 6 months before renewal is due.
You gain a full understanding of British standards for gas safety installations as well as the regulations and procedures relating to the standards. This enables you to gain CCN1 Accreditation and subsequently allow you to apply for Gas Safe registration (upon successful completion of the course).
