Course Details To prepare students for travel, tourism or leisure
employment. This one year course is offered on a modular basis. The
use of computers and information technology form an integral part
of the course. It consists of 3 mandatory units: The UK Travel
& Tourism Sector Understanding Customer Service in Travel
& Tourism Understanding the Nature & Effects of World
Travel. Plus optional units. Functional Skills will also be

For Students who feel that in the current competitive job market
their current qualifications are insufficient, or who do not
achieve the required entry requirements to join a Diploma Level 3
course or equivalent in either Business or Travel & Tourism.
Entry Requirements Four GCSEs at grades D-E or above, one of which
must be English, or a Level 1 pass. Applicants must also attend an
interview. Assessment Students are continually assessed during the
programme using a variety of methods, eg assignments and
presentations. Functional Skills are also included in the programme
and are assessed externally. Learning Outcome Successful completion
of the BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Travel & Tourism. Progression
after Programme BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel &
Tourism or trainee work in the travel industry.
