Course Content

The course is made up of ten units – five core units and five specialist units. The specialist units will enable students to study particular areas in depth.

• The Travel and Tourism Environment
• Management Perspectives in Travel and Tourism
• Finance and Funding in the Travel and Tourism Industry
• Law and Ethics in the Travel and Tourism Industry
• Research Project

5 Specialist Units:

• Marketing in Travel and Tourism
• Tourism Development Planning
• Tourism Destinations
• Tour Operations Management
• Special Interest Tourism or Hospitality Management

Course Aims

This qualification aims to provide a detailed insight into a range of key travel and tourism sectors and functions and will aim to provide students with the necessary skills to work at management level within this industry. The qualification will provide students with a direct progression route into employment or to study at degree level or equivalent.

Students are assessed internally on an ongoing basis by a variety of methods including assignments.
