Units include:

  • The UK Travel and Tourism Industry.
  • Understanding Customer Service in Travel and Tourism.
  • Understanding the nature and effects of world travel.

If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade C or above in Maths and/or English you will be required to complete the relevant Essential Skills qualification. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.

Course Aims

To provide a basic grounding in the Travel and Tourism Industry and reach a level to provide entry into Level 3 Diploma in Travel. Students will develop skills in customer service, destination geography, business awareness and employability.

Special Features

In addition to classroom teaching and in support of your studies, there will be visits to local facilities, visitor attractions and events. Students will receive talks from guest speakers and industry experts and there may be an opportunity for students to achieve Airline and Airports Certificates. All new students will partake in an induction programme. This will include a trip which aims to introduce students to the local tourism industry.

Continuous assessment through assignments, projects and practical activities.
