The Programme

There are nine units including Health and Safety; Knowledge of Information Level 2; Building Methods and Technology Level 2; plus the main plastering units; Apply Plaster Materials to External Surfaces; Fix Dry Lining and Plasterboard Products to Interiors; Form Sand and Cement Screeds; Produce Plaster Components; Apply Plaster Materials to Internal Surfaces; and Position and Secure Fibrous Plaster Components. All units will be assessed for knowledge by questions and answers on our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) system. Synoptic practical assessments will take place to check that you have reached the strict criteria in practical activities. Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT may be included in the programme content.
The Programme Content
There are nine units including Health and Safety, Knowledge of Information Level 2, Building Methods and Technology Level 2 plus the main plastering units, Apply Plaster Materials to External Surfaces, Fix Dry Lining and Plasterboard Products to Interiors, Form Sand and Cement Screeds, Produce Plaster Components, Apply Plaster Materials to Internal Surfaces and Position and Secure Fibrous Plaster Components. Entry Requirements
Initial assessment result at Level 1 or GCSE grade C in Maths and English or Level 1 course in Plastering/ Trowel Occupations.
Costs
Students are required to provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety footwear. There may also be a fee for materials, this will be discussed fully at interview.

Progression
Full completion of the qualification will allow you to progress to an Apprenticeship (NVQ Diploma Level 2 in Plastering). You must be employed to be able to complete the NVQ Diploma Level 2.
