This course is for students who wish to improve their practical and theoretical techniques in their chosen construction area. It provides an opportunity to obtain a sound base in the knowledge and basic practical skills of Bricklaying required by employers and industry. Five Reasons to Study this Course at Chichester 1. Excellent learning facilities in our new Construction building G Block. 2. Skilled and passionate staff with many years trade experience. 3. Excellent learning support staff and experienced pastoral care tutors. 4. Outstanding success rates and progression possibilities. 5. Access to enrichment and sports facilities. What will I Study? The course is run over two and a half days each week and is designed in individual units of competence in specific areas of the Brickwork both practical and theoretical aspects of the craft are covered. How will I be Taught? The course is broken into 75% practical training and 25% theory training. Practical training will be hands on work in the workshop using all the relevant tools and equipment following demonstrations and becoming proficient with tools of the trade. Theory is generally classroom based with a range of delivery and activities to suit individual learning needs. How will I be Assessed? Assessments for theory based units of the qualification are carried out using unit test both computerised and paper based. Practical assessments are carried out on completion of practical end tests using the awarding bodies tolerances and marking schemes. What our students say?
