Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying (Skills for Work)

The Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying is designed to develop the knowledge, understanding, practical and technical skills required for those actively looking to gain employment within the Bricklaying industry.

How do I join? • Complete an application form and attend an interview. • Take part in an aptitude test (if applicable).

What will I study? Construction Skills – CSkills Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying units to include: • Health, Safety and Welfare in construction and associated industries. • Understanding information, quantities and communication with others. • Understanding construction technology. • Construct masonry cladding • Construct cavity walling forming masonry structures • Construct solid walling, incorporating isolated and attached piers. • Construct thin joint masonry.

What support is available while I am on the course? You will be allocated a personal tutor to help you throughout the course. The college also offers learning support and guidance.

Assessment Methods

Continuous assessment throughout the course of practical workshop and theory tasks. This will be presented as a portfolio of evidence. Practical aspects of the course are examined by an overall practical end test. Theory is tested at the end of each unit by an online, multiple choice exam. There will also be an externally set multiple choice exam.
