About This Course:You’ll study the practical and theoretical aspects of painting and decorating. This helps prepare you for employment within the construction/painting and decorating industry, or progress onto other courses within the college. The course has been designed to deliver the skills and knowledge required to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. You will also have the opportunity to develop transferable skills which will help you in your future training or employment.

Ideally you should have the ability to be self motivated with a positive approach to learning and developing your painting and decorating skills. You must attend a Pre-entry Guidance Session before any possible offer of acceptance into the course may be made.
More Information
What You Study:Some of the subjects you’ll study include: Preparing and Painting Surfaces, Decorative Painting, Sign Writing, Paperhanging, Colour and Design. You may also be given the opportunity to develop your own projects such as mural painting, graining and marbling.
After The Course:Career
On successful completion of the course you may be able to seek an apprenticeship/modern apprenticeship or other employment within the construction/painting and decorating industry.
Continuing study
There may also be the opportunity to progress onto other National Qualification Courses.
How Long:This course runs twice a year:
August - December and January - June.
Location:City Campus North Hanover Street.
