The Programme

Apprenticeship in Engineering - Electronic The programme can be completed at two levels, either at Level 2 or 3. This is the Level 2 option.

The knowledge part will be covered whilst at college and covers a range of subjects, for example in Electronic Engineering you will study electrical and electronic principles. It will also contain units that are mandatory such as Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Entry Requirements

Level 2 requires a good school report with two of the following at C: Mathematics, English and ideally IT.

Costs

You must have an employer who would be prepared to take you as an apprentice, the cost would be determined by the college and the employer.

Progression

At the end of the Level 2 you would be deemed to be a competent operator or wire person. To further a career in electronics would be to progress to Level 3 Apprenticeship and associated Level 3 Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Length of Study

Typically 18 month to 2 years.
