Course Content

The level 2 qualification is aimed at students who wish to gain a knowledge and practical understanding of Business Administration and to improve their GCSE Profile. All units are assignment based. Modules are:

  • Working in Administration
  • Written Business Communication
  • Communicate with customers
  • Welcome Visitors
  • Handling Mail
  • Making and receiving calls

On completion of the course the students will obtain at least four GCSE’s grades (A-C).equivalent. All units are assignment based.

Option Modules

Text Processing/Word Processing/Legal Text Processing/Medical Word Processing/Speed Typing/Powerpoint

Course Aims

To equip students’ with the knowledge and practical training in the field of business administration and customer service.

Special Features

Students with enhanced skills can get the opportunity to obtain the Level 2 Diploma in Administration over the one year.

Students will also complete a one week period of work placement in a business environment arranged by the College eg NI Civil Service Departments or other private sector administration placements. An additional work placement week in retail is planned to support a separate customer service qualification.

Separate qualifications are obtained in Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2 (Equivalent to GCSE Mathematics and English grades (A–C).

Assessment Methods

A wide range of assessments are carried out ranging from assignments, portfolio building and observation of practical office tasks.
