Description

This course is designed to give students some of the knowledge and skills required to carry out servicing and repairs to light vehicle systems. On successful completion of this course students will have achieved a City & Guilds Level 2 Vocationally Related Qualification in Vehicle Maintenance Repair.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This is a non-advanced level course for those who are passionate about cars and want to pursue a career in the automotive industry as a vehicle service technician. Applicants should have either successfully completed the SCQF Level 4 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance or have Standard Grades at General level 3 or National 4 in Maths, Science or Technical Studies and English. Applicants should have either successfully completed the SCQF Level 4 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance or have Standard Grades at General level 3 or National 4 in Maths, Science or Technical Studies and English. Each student will have to complete an online pre-entry test and an interview, and must be 16 at the start of the course.

PROGRESSION ROUTES / CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Successful completion of this course may lead to an apprenticeship or progression to the full time City & Guilds SCQF Level 7 Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance Principles (VRQ Level 3) which we do not currently offer but is available at other colleges especially in the central belt.
