The CIPD: Foundation Certificate and Diploma in Human Resource Practice (Level 3) courses are offered in 2 parts to ensure accessibility for self-financing students. It is offered as follows:

Certificate or Diploma (Part 1) – Core Units + 1 Option (16 credits)

Certificate (Part 2) – Optional Units (16 credits) OR

Diploma (Part 2) – Additional Units (21 credits)

NB: Part 1 must be completed before Part 2

Study Option: Blended Learning (combination of distance learning in partnership with ICS Educate with certain taught components)

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

To achieve Part 1 of the CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice, you need a total of 16 credits from the following units:

Core Units (10 credits):

  • Developing Yourself as an Effective HR Practitioner (4 credits)
  • Understanding Organisations and the Role of HR (4 credits)
  • Recording, Analysing and Using HR Information (2 credits)
  • Optional Unit (6 of 18 credits):
  • Resourcing Talent* (6 credits)
  • NB * Mandatory attendance at a two-day workshop is required for this unit.
  • The remaining credits required for the Certificate or Diploma will be covered in Part 2 of the course.

How will I be assessed? Assessment will take the form of:

  • Personal Development Plans
  • Portfolios
  • Case Studies
  • Skills assignments with written tasks

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no prerequisites for this foundation Human Resource course at Level 3 (QCF), however you must be proficient in the English language and knowledge of or experience in human resource support or management would be beneficial.
