This course is designed to suit students from the following specialist areas:

It combines practical studio work in the students specialist design area with contextual & theoretical modules. Specialist studio areas are available for advanced studio practice and students will have access to supporting workshops. There is a shifting emphasis from group & studio/workshop teaching in semester one to individual tutorials in individual spaces in semester two.

The course promotes an enquiring, creative & challenging approach towards the students work. It encourages the belief that designers have independent thoughts, feelings, reactions and attitudes, which they need to externalise and visualise within theoretical work and practical design practice.

Students will work in both interdisciplinary design groups and specialist subject-specific groups to encourage breadth & depth.

In the context of this Degree course, design includes graphic design, fashion design & 3D design. An holistic approach will be given to design theory and critical analysis, with the appropriate subject pathways being offered for specialist & advanced studio practice.
