This is the second year of the BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion and Retail. This creative programme explores fashion design in both practice and theory and connects it with the world of retail. What Will I Learn

The programme gives you the knowledge, understanding and skills required to prepare you for further studies or employment. You will work in specialist workshops and take part in visits to fashion industry exhibitions, museums and high level retailers as an integral part of the course. Skills continue to be developed in Photoshop and InDesign as well as styling, fashion retail and design. Students will also build up professional portfolios in order to progress to Higher Education or employment.

How Will I Be Assessed?

All modules are internally assessed through assignments and are subject to external moderation. Assignments include a variety of assessment methods, including exploratory work, case studies and outcomes linked to industry practise, incorporating current influences and within realistic deadlines.

Entry Requirements

You may enter upon successful completion of the one-year Level 3 Tec Subsidiary Certificate in Fashion Retail. Alternatively you may enter with a BTEC First Diploma in Art & Design at a Merit or Distinction grade. At interview you will need to show eviden

Additional Information

There is an annual studio fee of £200 which is used to provide course materials needed in classes as well as contributing to educational trips and end of year show.

Progression

All our programmes are designed to allow you to progress to University for specialist Degrees, Foundation Degrees or into the workplace. The direct progression from this programme would be the HNC in Fashion & Retail.

Career Opportunities

This Level 3 course will provide students with the opportunity to progress onto employment in the creative industries sector or to continue a creative career path at Higher Education.
