Level 5 Theatre Arts (Technical Theatre) Foundation Degree

This is a practical course, allowing students to gather diverse skills in specialist areas. Students are introduced to both design and technical work via theoretical and practical workshop sessions. Students cover a number of topics including: set design; stage management; sound design and production; lighting design and practice; stage properties; and costume. There will also be the opportunity to work with professionals on live briefs.
Students will enjoy a fully integrated programme of work alongside dancers and actors, with major dance performances developed from residencies abroad. In addition there are opportunities to work on music gigs and corporate events.

At the end of the course students will have acquired the
professional knowledge and skills to equip them for employment in
the performing arts sector or further study/training.
In year 2 two students can specialise their skills in the areas of
Design, Technical or Management.

Year 2:
- Production company
- Applied specialism
- Industry practice/work-based learning
- Final realised project
Students will need between 120 and 240 UCAS points from:
- At least two 'A' Levels at 'A2', with one in a related subject area
- BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma in a related subject area
- Advanced Diploma with relevant Principal or Additional & Specialist Learning (ASL)
- International Baccalaureate
Mature students with relevant experience are welcome to
apply.
