This qualification is specifically aimed towards students interested in future design careers within theatre, film or TV. These can include 3D set / stage or prop design, model making, costume design and construction, theatrical hair makeup & prosthetics, theatre advertising and stage management. You will explore a range of design disciplines throughout year one, before deciding a specific area to specialise for the Extended Diploma in the following year. Entry Requirements
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including Maths and English (or equivalent) plus a portfolio of artwork or First Diploma in Art and Design with Merit grade. Students with a Pass grade will be considered subject to an additional assessment and/or a supporting reference from tutor/school.
Delivery & Assessment methods
Developed through a series of creative skills building classes and integrated projects progressively developing your knowledge, independence and personal identity as a designer or production employee for Theatre. The Feed initiative provides award winning collaborative opportunities through high profile speakers, special workshops and theatrical productions. Assessment is through grading at Pass, Merit and Distinction.
Progression
The opportunity to progress to University level courses in Theatre Design and related areas, stage and television courses or employment in the Theatre Business.
