The course has design at its core. Students will be encouraged to solve creative problems utilising both traditional design methods and computer technology that allows for experimentation, exploration and creativity. You may have a very clear idea of your progression and direction on starting the course, but you will be challenged to take risks within the different specialisms of design and produce work of genuine originality, rather than seek safe and predictable solutions.

Year 2: Offers you design problems with greater constraints
attached, which ground your work and require more realistic
outcomes. There is greater emphasis on a critical awareness of your
work and that of your peers, and an expectation of increased
professional practice.
The course will culminate in the proposition and execution of your
own design brief which will be displayed in an end of year
show.

Students must have between 120 and 240 UCAS points from the following:
- Diploma in Foundation Studies Art & Design
- At least two A Levels at A2, with one in an Art & Design subject area
- BTEC National Certificate or Diploma in an Art, Design or Media-related subject
- Progression Diploma with relevant Principal Learning
- Advanced Diploma with relevant Principal or Additional Specialist Learning (ASL)
You will be invited to attend an interview with a portfolio of your work.
