Level 4 Construction & the Built Environment (Construction) HNC Year 1

This modular course is designed for people employed in the building services sector of the construction industry and related professions as technicians.

This course consists of the following:

• Design principles and application for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Group project in the construction and the built environment Level 5
• Health, safety and welfare for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Science and materials for construction and the built environment Level 4
• Construction and maintenance of buildings Level 4
• Management principles and application Level 5
• Technology of complex buildings Level 5
• Project management for construction and the built environment Level 5

Students should have employment within the building services sector of the construction industry and have ONE of the following:

• At least two 'A' Levels at 'A2', with at least one in a related subject area
• BTEC Diploma or Extended Diploma in a related subject area
• Advanced Diploma with relevant Principal or Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL)
• A construction-related craft qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3
• International Baccalaureate
