This course is designed to give an introduction to double-entry book-keeping and will cover a brief history of where it all began:

  • The cash & bank contras
  • The purchase day book
  • The sales day book
  • The purchase ledger
  • The sales ledger
  • The nominal or general ledger
  • Stock control - FIFO, LIFO
  • Putting the accounts into a statement
  • The balance sheet - what is it? reading it. preparing it
