If you are keen to sharpen your mind or improve your job prospects in many fields including electronics, computing and engineering, studying A level Maths will prove invaluable.

This distance learning course consists of a number of units, which can be taken as part of both the AS and full A level award.

To gain the full A level, you need to complete six units (three for AS and three for A2), including all of the compulsory C units.

AS: Compulsory units: C1 and C2, then choose one from: C3, D1, M1 and S1.

A2: Compulsory units: C3 (if not taken as part of AS), C4, then choose one or two units (to make up the three needed for the A2).

Entry requirements and hours of study

  • GCSE Maths grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • You should allow 150 hours of study for the AS and 150 hours for the A2, plus extra time for completing assignments.

Assessment description

This course will prepare you to sit a combination of units for the Edexcel specification. These units can be taken individually (modular assessment) or all together at the end of the course (linear assessment). Each unit exam is 1hr30mins and worth 75 marks.
