Part-Time Acting for Film is aimed at all those wishing to learn or develop their existing acting skills for the medium of film, but who cannot commit to a full-time schedule. Taught by an acting coachand professional film director over the course of 12 weeks on two evenings per week, you will learn core acting skills as well as all the technical skills necessary for you to perform confidently in front of a camera.

You will act in filmed exercises and also shoot exercises yourselves so that you know what it is like to be on the other side of the camera.At the end of this acting course, you will be given a DVD of the scenes that you and your fellow actors have acted in. If you would like a personal DVD with only your scenes, this can be edited for you at an extra cost of £300. 

Please note that you need to be at least 18 years old to take this course.

Learning Goals

By the end of the course, you will:

- Have gained more confidence in acting for the camera by understanding the filmmaking process in its entirety

- Know the difference between acting for theatre and acting for film

- Know and to have practiced the tools necessary to create a believable performance on screen

- Have come up with valuable tools for the actor to prepare for a screen performance including how to interpret a script

- Understand the technical aspects of film acting such that the actor feels confident on the set and can give the director (and camera operator) what they want

- Be able to read a script and identify whether the characters are 3-dimensional or not

- Have gained an insight into how to survive as an actor in the marketplace
