Our new partnership with the SAE Institute means you could work on live projects within creative media production.

.You also follow a functional skills programme in English or ICT.

Assessment is continuous through the two years of the programme in a variety of practical and theoretical assignments. There are no examinations.

Working in specialist facilities you take part in a number of workshops that introduce you to a broad range of the performing arts. Structured around assignments the work will develop through rehearsals to produce performances and you will learn how to create successful productions.

The variety of the productions challenge you to extend and enhance your performance skills. You learn to create solo small group and large group performances of drama, dance, and if you wish, singing. To build your knowledge of current trends in performance theatre and dance trips are incorporated into the course.

The course prepares you for university entrance but opens many other options too.

Our aim is to make you employable in the arts sector through industry-standard training. Over the two years you develop skills in performance, presentations, research, time management and literacy.

You will also become more creative and learned how to have fun while working hard to produce top quality performance.

Applicants for a Level 3 programme will normally have at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including some subjects related to the proposed area of study) and/or a completed Level 2 award, and the willingness to study for an additional Level 2 qualification in English and/or maths.

If you are interested in a Level 3 programme and have alternative qualifications you would like us to consider, please contact us with your details. Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

The course is broad in its coverage of performing arts. It provides the foundation for progression to HNDs and degrees in performing arts and career development.

You may be able to progress on to a 2-year degree programme offered by the SAE Institute, a new partner of ours. The SAE Institute delivers creative media courses in sound/audio engineering, music production, digital film-making, web development, 3D/interactive animation and games programming. The degree option for successful completion of this programme is the SAE BA/BSc in Audio Production.
