Course Description 

Sociology and Social and Political History Diploma Bundle. The Sociology Diploma course is about developing a critical understanding of society, and through this understanding providing a basis for underlining and explaining social problems such as ill health, poverty and crime.

This Sociology Diploma course focuses on the study of the social world. It involves studying human beings and their behaviour patterns. In order to do this, we must focus on the way people form relationships and how these relationships, considered in their totality, are represented by the concept of a “society”. In this respect, the focus of the sociologist’s attention is group behaviour. That is, the effect that the groups people join or are born into (family, work, education and so forth) have upon people’s social behaviour.

The Social and Political History Diploma covers events from the Industrial Revolution to the Labour Party Victory in the 1990s. This is the voyage of gender and class struggles, the Victorians and their attitudes to society and crime. Social life, the economy, the way we worked, lived and socialised have all changed dramatically.

 Previous Knowledge Required 

You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course, although you would be expected to have a reasonable standard of literacy.

You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.
