Guitar classical - (improvers and continuing learners)
By the end of the course you should have learnt additional classical guitar playing techniques and have an increased understanding of music theory. This develops your ability to play more interesting pieces of music. This course can accommodate learners who wish to progress further with their playing and who have completed previous courses either as beginners or improvers. Additional costs may be incurred for the materials used during the course and fee for the optional examination.

Guitar – classical, nylon-stringed, pitch pipe (optional), paper, pen, footstool/rest (optional but highly desirable). KAE is unable to offer refunds for any materials, equipment or books if the course is subsequently closed.
Course Aim & Objective:
Continue to develop your guitar playing and begin creating your own personal expression with increased knowledge of music theory and practical techniques.
By the end of the course you should be able to play in different positions on the guitar, have a much improved understanding in musical theory and go away much happier.
Assessment:
Progress and Attainment Monitoring form and Record of Learner Achievement of Learning Goals. Individual summative assessments at the end of the course.
Progression:
An opportunity to enter for an ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) test/exam if desired.
Course Syllabus:
Progress from beginners, covering "2nd","3rd" and "5th" position playing up the fret-board; basics of transposition of notes from one position to another; chord progression, Major key signatures with flats, and difference between "Major" and "Minor" keys. Work on one or two pieces of music of your own choice. Tutor suggestions integrate most aspects of what has been taught.
