Thisone year full-time course will suit more mature students who would like to make a career change and develop sound knowledge and understanding of a variety of animal related subjects. As part of this course you will be required to undertake work experience in an animal organisation.

Four days a week at college to incude a mix of lectures, demonsrations and practical work PLUS 1 day a week work experience at an animal related establishment. Optional Study Tour
Days - Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Work experience - Fridays
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs Grade C or above - to include English Language, Science and Maths, Level 2 qualification in animal care with distinction or an NVQ 2 in an animal related area plus Level 2 Functional Skills.
Mature students will be considered even if they lack the normal entry requirements, depending on their experiences with animals. Recent experience in an animal establishment is essential.
Progression/Employment
Self-employment or a wide range of employment opportunities including zoos, animal sanctuaries, farm parks, RSPCA, wildlife organisations, pet stores and more.
Possible progression onto animal related Foundation Degrees, veterinary nursing or to continue for a second year to achieve an Extended Diploma.
