Description
Full TimeWe aim to provide thorough training in the principles and
practices of Animal Care and Management. This includes the
development of managerial, practical and scientific skills needed
to enable learners to take up a responsible post within the Animal
Care Industry or to progress to a Higher Education. The course
incorporates Science, Theoretical Animal care and management
topics, Practical Animal Managements and business related skills
and knowledge. A substantial period of work experience is
undertaken.
Students will also undertake additional qualifications including Essential Skills and Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate.

How you will gain the qualification
Students gain the qualifications by completing a series of practical and written assessments. Students must complete Year 1 to progress to Year 2.
What qualifications you need
At least 5 GCSEs at Grade A* to C including English
Language/Welsh and either Maths or Science. Alternatively
successful completion of a Level 2 Diploma qualification in a
related subject at Merit or Distinction Level. Depending upon
qualifications and experience applicants may be offered a place on
either the 60/120 Credit route, or the 90/180 Credit route.
Prospective students will be interviewed to establish their
suitability for the course. Enthusiasm and commitment are
essential.
Entry requirements may be waived for mature learners. This is dependent on other qualifications and experience.
Where to next
Learners can complete 60-180 credits and enter employment. Learners who achieve 120/180 credits can progress to higher education.
