PURPOSETo provide you with the opportunity to obtain a
systematic understanding of knowledge of English, European and/or
international tax in modules chosen from a range of tax areas, and
also to ensure that you have an understanding of a wide range of
theories, concepts, values, principles and rules in relation to the
modules. It should also enable you to develop a comprehensive
understanding of techniques applicable to your own research and
advanced scholarship in your chosen modules.
DESCRIPTION
The programme is designed for those without a legal degree to
engage in a comprehensive study of domestic and international tax
law. It offers the modules of the International Tax LLM with
additional skills training for non-lawyers. There is also an
opportunity to prepare for the Chartered Institute of Taxation
Advanced Diploma in International Tax.
You will also have the opportunity, subject to approval, to study
on other subjects offered by King’s as part of the Master of Laws
LLM programme, for example commercial, finance or business related
subjects.
Students will be those with an interest in tax, who would like a
comprehensive and sound knowledge of different areas of tax, who
have some experience or proven interest in the arena. Students who
are not yet working will gain knowledge which will help them to
gain employment in this area, while students who are working will
gain expertise in specific areas of taxation in order to improve
their prospects and broaden their horizons.
Modules may include EU Tax Law, International Tax Law, Tax &
Estate Planning, Taxation of Business Enterprises, Value Added Tax
and Transfer Pricing.
