DESCRIPTIONThe MRes programme is multi-disciplinary and is designed
for practitioners who wish to develop a research or a clinical
academic career. A unique feature of the MRes is that students will
join experienced research teams to work on a specifically designed
project from the outset of joining the programme. This will assist
students in understanding more about the research process and how
the taught components are directly related to their chosen project
areas. The programme will develop students’ knowledge and research
skills to enhance their current and future careers in supporting,
delivering and integrating research into clinical practice, and
fostering evidence based practice. The Programme will also assist
in identifying the practitioners with the appropriate innovation
and critical-thinking skills so that they might be supported to
undertake further study with the aim of developing a future
clinical-academic career.
For Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals, there is the opportunity to apply for Clinical MRes Fellowships. The Fellowship will allow you to focus solely on your study by paying your salary (allowing you to be seconded from your present institution) and your programme fees. The Fellowships are funded by the prestigious National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) MRes Fellowship Scheme.
Fellowships will be available for up to 12 candidates via an application process in March 2013.
