This course has been designed to help you pursue a career in Clinical Research. The course is supported by the internationally recognised Edinburgh Academy of Clinical Research Education which has strong links to Pharmaceutical companies, Clinical Research Organisations and the hospital and NHS sectors. This programme is intended to meet the educational needs of Clinical Research Nurses (CRNs) and others working on the practical implementation of Clinical Research/Trials. It is intended to facilitate Advanced Practice in this group. The programme has been devised with the Institute of Clinical Research (ICR). The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) was founded in 1978 as ACRPI (The Association of Clinical Research for the Pharmaceutical Industry). In 2000 it changed its status to become the Institute of Clinical Research and is well established as the largest professional clinical research body in Europe and India. In addition to the Academic qualification offered in this programme, students will also become members of the ICR and will have the opportunity to gain an Institute of Clinical Research Certificate by undertaking a Multiple Choice Questionnaire exam. This course will advance your knowledge of specialist areas and develop new professional skills to a high level. You’ll be able to deal with complex issues in Clinical Research, make informed judgements and communicate your conclusions clearly to colleagues and peers. View Full Screen

What's involved This course is studied on a part-time basis and generally lasts 1year. With the support and guidance of our tutors you will develop an individualised programme of study that best suits you. To find out more about part-time possibilities please contact us using the enquiries button. You’ll learn through a combination of lectures, tutorials, online learning and independent study. The course consists of 3 modules: Clinical Research –Theory Clinical Research – legislation and Regulation Clinical Research – Practice These can be taken in any order, though it is anticipated that only one module will run per trimester. This may change based on demand.
