This is a broad, introductory course which aims to:
- explore the relationship between concepts of special educational need, inclusive education and the organisation of special provision with particular reference to the curriculum and wider social context.
- develop a critical perspective on issues and debates in policy, curriculum planning and pedagogy
- enable students to become familiar with the different theoretical approaches which inform practice in the education and care of children and young people with social emotional and behavioural difficulties
