What do I need to get on this course?
For the full-time courses a minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades A – C, one of which must be English Language. No previous knowledge of Sociology is necessary, but it helps if you are interested in current affairs.
Reading, essay writing and note-taking skills, as well as willingness to participate in discussion, are important.
Sociology has its own jargon and terminology, and it is more than common sense. This is a subject that requires hard work, but builds on your own knowledge and experience. Students find it interesting and rewarding.

Sociology enables successful candidates to prepare for Higher Education in a range of Humanities and Business degrees, as well as being the ideal basis for work in Local Government, The Arts and The Media.
