AS/A2 Sociology
At AS Level you will study the ‘nature/nurture debate’, cultural transmission and families & culture. This explores how culture is transmitted by the family to the next generation and the nature of husband/wife relationships. You will also learn about sociological research methods, looking at issues such as the practical and theoretical elements of experiments, surveys and observations. The sociology of education module includes such topics as the role of education as an agency of social control and the influence of education on life chances.
