This course is a general introduction to Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) methods and drawing practices. The scheme is predominantly hands - on learning.

Course Content

The scheme enables candidates to:

  • Draw with accuracy using a CAD package.
  • Understand the system requirements and set up of a modern CAD system
  • Use CAD editing facilities in a creative manner to enhance quality and speed of output
  • Acquire an awareness of the importance of CAD in communication, design and manufacture.

Progression

Students can move onto the City & Guilds 4353/01 Two Dimensional Computer Aided Design Level 3.

Additional Information

The course is taught using AutoCAD 2006. No Fee Concessions

Entry Requirements

No previous knowledge of computers is required, but knowledge of, or an interest in, technical drawing (mechanical, electrical or architectural) is desirable.
