Additional NotesOn the first evening candidates will need to bring pen/pencil and an A4 lever arch file in which to store the large comprehensive set of course notes that will be supplied for use during the course. Access to AutoCAD outside of college is essential. It may be possible to obtain access to free software for use on personal computers for the duration of the course but this cannot be guaranteed by the College. Information about this will be given on the first evening. This qualification is assessed by the following methods: two City & Guilds set practical assignments which are completed during the course and one multiple choice test which is undertaken online at the college at the end of the course.
Entry CriteriaWhilst no specific prior qualification is required you will need to be able to organise written information clearly and coherently, be able to undertake simple calculations and have some previous knowledge of a PC and Windows operating system. Some previous knowledge of basic technical drawing, whilst not essential, will be of use.
Progression DetailsUpon successfully completing your Level 2 qualification you will be able to seek employment in an industry requiring CAID/CAE/CAS/CAM designers. Industries such as engineering, manufacturing and construction are likely employers of CAD staff.
