Part TimeThis unit covers 8 learning outcomes. The candidate will be able
to:
1. Use associated IT, CAD hardware and operating
systems.
2. Use basic file management techniques and maintain health and
safety requirements.
3. Use and identify key components of the software relating to
the 2D drawing
environment.
4. Use a range of viewing commands and set up the drawing
space.
5. Use the drawing commands to produce shapes.
6. Use the CAD softwares co-ordinate system to aid accurate
drawing.
7. Use hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines.
8. Use basic editing commands and produce simple hard
copies.

How you will gain the qualification
For the award of the level 2 CAD certificate, candidates must
successfully complete all the assessments for the unit.
Level 2 2D CAD - Unit 206 - Assessment components required
7579-206 Written test
Unit 201 Assignment 1: Creation of Basic Drawing
Assignment 2: The Company Logo
The assessment includes two assignments and a multiple-choice
test which covers the knowledge requirements. The multiple-choice
test will be delivered on-line through the City and Guilds GOLA
system (Global On Line Assessment).
What qualifications you need
There are no specific prior qualifications other than basic literacy and numerical skills i.e. the ability to read and interpret written tasks and to write in a legible and understandable form.
