- Food Hygiene Certificate You will also be required to attend a vocational placement and a 1 week compulsory residential placement. You may be required to continue to study English, maths or IT as part of your course.

Progression
This qualification at Extended Diploma level enables you to enter degree level programmes, teacher training, paramedical training (for those aged over 21 years), police work, nursing and social work. Alternatively, students can go straight into work in a variety of Health & Care settings, including community work and the Health Service. Prospective applicants should also be aware that for Nursing and Teaching, and some other degree programmes, GCSE English, Mathematics & Science are required. Additional Information
All of the Caring & Early Years Education courses are subject to Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks for which an additional charge is payable This course will be delivered in the first year as a one year Subsidiary Diploma and if relevant grades are met learners will continue onto the Level 3 Extended Diploma in their second year.
Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) including English Language, or equivalent (e.g. First Diploma in Health & Social Care with a Merit/Distinction profile and English GCSE Grade C).
