Course content
The course is structured around design modules that increase in complexity: from domestic to urban scales, with work being undertaken both individually and in groups. You will be encouraged to think independently, critically and logically to communicate effectively appropriate design solutions. The course aims to inspire professionalism, design flair and originality.
You will study:
- Vital issues of environment and sustainability the role of mechanical and electrical services in complex buildings
- Architectural design, and acquire practical skills in presentation from model-making to computer aided design
- Conservation of buildings, and the politics of architecture
- Building regulations and control, health and safety law, building appraisal and modern methods of construction
