Exercises can be modified and tailored to suit your individual needs. With the aid of music and a range of small pieces of hand equipment the course is designed to give you a greater understanding of how to exercise safely within your own capabilities. The aim is to encourage you how to enjoy keeping active which is so vitally important especially as we get older when it is key to living a more independent life. Regular exercise has so many health benefits and can even help alleviate stress and anxiety. This course aims to help individuals achieve a good posture and to help with: - co-ordination - balance - mobility - strengthening of muscles - improving flexibility - prevention of falls Our tutor, Sue Davies has been with the college delivering gentle exercise classes for thirty years. Sue is on the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) which is a national register for qualified instructors, coaches, trainers and teachers who have achieved government approved qualifications and training. She is also Otago (later life training) qualified which is particularly recognised by the NHS. Sue will encourage you to identify small, realistic, achievable goals to work towards throughout the course in order to monitor your progress and achievement within the group. By the end of the course you will have made pleasing progress, enjoyed yourself and achieved some of or all of the goals set as well as having gained an understanding of the benefits and fun of regular exercise. There are no additional costs associated with this course.
