Course Description:
Project Management methodologies, of which PRINCE2 is the paradigm, offer the Project Manager tried and tested structure and guidance in support of why, what, when, where and who…with one notable exception, PRINCE2 offers very limited guidance on 'How', in that there are no detailed project management tools and techniques covered as part of the method. This is the remit of the APMP for PRINCE2 Practitioners course and examination.
This intensive 3 day course provides delegates with comprehensive training to prepare them for the APMP examination (based on the APM Body of Knowledge, 5th Edition). It accredits the prior learning that a PRINCE2® Practitioner has attained by taking out of the examinable syllabus all of the topics that have already been assessed within the PRINCE2® Practitioner Exam. The course will enable delegates to understand all elements of the APMP syllabus, get to grips with the specific examination language, and learn strategies and tactics for approaching the examination. Examination practice and feedback is included in the workshop.
This course combines presentations with individual and group practice of examination questions. Delegates will have the opportunity to raise and address examination topics of personal concern and will be expected to undertake some evening work at the end of the first two days. They will be provided with the APMP course reading and reference material to support their learning.
The attainment of accreditations offered by professional bodies such as the Association for Project Management (APM) is increasingly seen as a recognised indicator of competence in project management. Delegates sit the APMP for PRINCE2 examination on the last afternoon of the course. This examination has been shortened to two hours (standard APMP is 3 hours) and with fewer questions to answer as questions covered by PRINCE2 are no longer examinable.
