CMI Level 3 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring (QCF) (1005)

The Level 3 qualifications in Coaching and Mentoring are designed for supervisors and first line managers, to support the development of coaching and mentoring skills and techniques of individuals, teams and achieve objectives.

Diploma

The Level 3 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring (QCF) is designed for supervisors and first line managers. It builds on the learning gained in the Certificate and introduces organisational culture, values and behaviour while developing your skills in managing team dynamics and equality and diversity.

Learners need to complete all Group A units and any combination of units to a minimum of 7 credits from Group B. Learners need to complete a total of 37 credits to achieve this qualification.

Group A Units

• Unit 3011V1 - Principles, skills and impact of coaching and mentoring (7 credits)
• Unit 3012V1 - Coaching and mentoring for individual and team needs (6 credits)
• Unit 3013V1 - Managing the coaching and mentoring relationships (5 credits)
• Unit 3014V1 -Coaching and mentoring processes (7 credits)
• Unit 3015V1 - Completing the coaching and mentoring process (5 credits)

Group B Units

• Unit 3016V1 - Coaching and mentoring process evaluation (5 credits)
• Unit 4003V1 - Understanding organisational culture, values and behaviour (7 credits)
• Unit 4004V1 - Understanding team dynamics (7 credits)
• Unit 4008V1 - Managing equality and diversity (7 credits)

Assessment

Assessment is normally via practical work-based assignments provided by your Approved Centre. This ensures you minimise time away from work and that you undertake work study which is relevant to your own organisation’s context.

Progression

On successful completion of a Level 3 qualification in Coaching and Mentoring, a number of progression opportunities become available:

• Enhance your professional status by upgrading your CMI membership
• Progress to other qualifications at the same level (e.g. from Level 3 Award to Level 3 Certificate etc)
• Progress to other qualifications at the next level (e.g. from Level 3 Certificate to Level 5 Certificate)
• Apply to become a Chartered Manager.
