Pursue a career as a site carpenter or joiner in the construction industry with the Level 2 Diploma in Joinery. This course is ideal if you have successfully completed the Level 1 Diploma and want to extend your skills and knowledge.

You cover subjects such as handling and storing resources, work relationships, providing working platforms, preparation maintenance and use of woodworking power tools and basic wood jointing techniques. You learn functional skills too.

You are assessed on your practical work and job knowledge.

Candidates will develop and build on practical skills and knowledge through a range of units. Functional skills will also form part of the course.

Applicants for a Level 2 programme will normally have:
- At least 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above and/or a completed Level 1 award
- GCSEs to include English and Maths at Grade D or above or Level 1 Functional Skills qualifications
- The willingness to study for an additional qualification in English and/or Maths

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

This course will prepare you for employment as a work-based learner apprentice in carpentry and joinery or further study at Level 3.
