You gain a certificate that is recognised by all current Microgeneration Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement for appropriate training in solar thermal technology.

Successful completion provides suitably-qualified individuals with training evidence when applying for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows self-certification. It can also act as notification to building control departments of work completed.

This course leads to a Level 3 award within the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The training has been mapped to National Occupational Standards which means you receive the most beneficial and industry-relevant training possible.

You need to hold a G3 certificate in domestic unvented hot water systems, energy efficiency, water regulations and NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and heating. Or you could have 3 years industry experience as well as a non-QCF qualification in heat pumps systems.

The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of Environmental Technologies is also a requirement for this course.
