This course is for experienced rainwater harvesting and grey water re-use installers who have achieved competency in a non-NOS mapped course, require QCF accreditation and require minimal training.

The course covers the installation, commissioning, handover, inspection and maintenance of rainwater harvesting (RWH) and grey water re-use systems in accordance with the new QCF framework qualification.

Assessment is by online multiple-choice exam, paper-based exam and practical assessment in the workshop.

A training manual which accompanies the course will be sent out to you 3-4 weeks prior to attendance and you will be expected to self study in preparation for the assessments. You are assessed in the classroom and in the workshop by a skilled tutor.

Successful completion of the training and assessment provides suitably-qualified individuals with training evidence when applying for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows self-certification. It can also act as notification to building control departments of work completed.

This course leads to a Level 3 award within the Qualifications and Credit Framework. Also, this training has been mapped to National Occupational Standards which means you receive the most beneficial and industry-relevant training possible.

You need a water regulations certificate and NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and heating. Or you could have 3 years of industry experience as well as a non-QCF qualification in RWH and grey water re-use systems. The Level 3 award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of Environmental Technologies is also a requirement for this course.

Upon completion of this course you can then progress to a Level 3 award in other environmental technologies.
