This course and certificate are recognised by all the current Microgeneration Certification Schemes as meeting the requirement for appropriate training in the solar thermal technology.

Successful completion of the training and assessment will provide training evidence for suitably qualified individuals to include with their application for registration on a Microgeneration Certification Scheme that allows self-certification, and notification to building control departments of work completed.

The course leads to a Level 3 award within the Qualifications and Credit Framework. The training has been mapped to National Occupational Standards, which means you are receiving the most beneficial and industry-relevant training possible.

You need a G3 certificate in domestic unvented hot water systems, energy efficiency water regulations and NVQ Level 2 in plumbing and heating, or 3 years of industry experience. You need a non-QCF qualification in heat pump systems too.

The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Fundamental Principles of Environmental Technologies is also a prerequisite for this course.

Upon completion of this course you can progress to the Level 3 Award in Maintenance and Inspection of Heat Pump Systems, or to another environmental technology course.
