The course is designed to give you more complex skills in bench joinery. You will need to have achieved an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Bench Joinery to enable you to attend the advanced level.

The elements of the course are Level 3 Diploma in Bench Joinery, Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Bench Joinery, Functional Skills in English and Maths Level 2, and Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

You spend one day a week in college participating in classroom and practical-based sessions. The other four days are spent working in the workplace putting what you have learned into practice. You spend one day a week in college participating in classroom and practical-based sessions. The other four days are spent working in the workplace putting what you have learned into practice. All aspects of training will be carried out in college. These will be taught both in the classroom and the workshops. You will then take the skills you have learnt at college out to the workplace where you will be expected to bring in work based evidence and build a portfolio of work. An assessor will visit your work place to observe your working practices. All key skills will be delivered at college within your day release.

You will build more complex knowledge required to carry out many Bench Joinery tasks. It will give you further insight into the profession and prepare you for taking on more responsible roles within the profession.

To apply for this course you must have successfully completed your Intermediate level Apprenticeship in Bench Joinery.

You can progress to a more supervisory role.
