Vehicle Body Repair Diploma (QCF)

Summary:

This course is aimed at learners wanting to prepare themselves for a career in the vehicle body repair industryby studying on a full time course.

Course Code: A0041 Course Length: One Year Entry Requirements:

This course has a minimum entry requirement of at least two GCSEs at grade F or above.
An enrty level 3 qualification in a relevent subject. Successful completion of a satisfactory interview.

Core Skills:

The course includes elements of health & safety, housekeeping and basic body repair techniques.
Key skills will also be delivered at an appropriate level.

Assessment:

Learners will be required to complete a set number of practical tasks and pass 2 on-line multichoice question papers.

Academic Progression:

Learners successfully completing Level 1 can advance to level 2.

Career Progression:

The IMI Level 1 award will help learners progress onto a modern apprentiship programme.

Full Description:

IMI Level 1 Body repair.

Learners will restore damaged body work through the initial stages of repair.
Repairs are carried out to Industry standard using the large range of equipment found in the college body workshop.

Areas covered will include Health and safety, foundation skills, panel beating, body filling, MIG and Spot welding, Valeting, vehicle construction and introduction to low carbon technologies
