Full Description:

The Higher Diploma will expand your knowledge of the core subjects through a more detailed look at the spectrum of public services, local communities, health and wellbeing, safety and protection and the skills needed to work in the sector. You will look at local public services and see how they differ from those that are delivered nationally. You will also study how public services assess and promote wellbeing for individuals and communities, and learn new communication methods to help you gather information and share it with the public. The Diploma combines academic study with real-life learning and hands-on experience. It will equip you with many skills that employers and universities are interested in, like team working, good communication and problem solving. With at least ten days work experience during the course, you will have plenty of opportunity to interact with people and develop knowledge that will give you a head start in a public services career, or even in another profession if you decide it is not for you.
